Lover's Eye Pendants

These are custom-made necklaces drawn with colored pencils that I have had commissioned. They are based upon a historical trend called "Lover's Eyes."
"Lover’s Eyes" were popular in Europe between 1790 and the 1820s. They depicted paintings of the eye of significant others, children, and loved ones and were most commonly embedded into a pendant, brooch, locket, or ring. They acted as a gesture of affection and a way to feel close to a loved one when they were distant or departed.
